Communities across the Upper Midwest are mobilizing to recover from a weekend of severe weather and destructive tornadoes that ravaged multiple states. Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Wisconsin experienced numerous storms, with at least 66 tornado reports submitted, but no fatalities reported. In Minnesota's Marion Township, around 30 homes were damaged, and a dozen faced significant destruction, prompting emergency responses and temporary shelters for displaced residents.

Illinois declared a disaster emergency in McLean County following the storms, though no injuries were reported. The village of Lena experienced the most severe damage from an EF-2 tornado, which uprooted trees, damaged homes and outbuildings, and blocked roads. Despite the widespread destruction, there have been no fatalities or serious injuries. Power outages affected over 43,000 customers in Illinois, though utility crews quickly restored service. Wisconsin saw historic activity with 26 tornado warnings issued, and entire neighborhoods, such as in Ringle, were wiped out, leaving dozens of homes destroyed. Red Cross volunteers are actively assisting impacted communities with relief efforts amidst ongoing severe weather threats.
