Communities across the Upper Midwest are grappling with the aftermath of a weekend tornado and severe weather outbreak that damaged dozens of homes and disrupted power for tens of thousands. The National Weather Service reported at least 66 tornado occurrences across states including Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, Wisconsin, and Oklahoma, with no fatalities but considerable property damage. In Minnesota, about 30 homes were damaged in Marion Township, and an additional 20 in Stewartville, prompting community shelters and ongoing relief efforts.

In Illinois, McLean County declared a disaster emergency following storms in Bloomington, though no injuries were reported. The village of Lena experienced the most significant impact from an EF-2 tornado, damaging many homes, uprooting trees, and knocking down power lines while blocking roads. Wisconsin saw the destruction of 75 homes in Ringle, and emergency crews are actively assisting residents while dealing with ongoing severe weather and flooding issues from earlier storms. Power was swiftly restored to the majority of affected customers, and volunteer aid continues to support storm victims.
